Fisheries Issues Red Tide Alert

Begawan - The concentration of the red tide organisms was found
to be high in Brunei waters following continuous monitoring by the
Fisheries Department, RTB reported.
It was found that the waters off
Pelong, Pelumpong to Meragang, Beralcas and Jerudong, Lubuk Simpur,
Serasa, Ujung Sapuh, Pulau Bedukang and Pulau Keingaran are affected
by the phenomenon.
The public are again reminded to
abstain from consuming small fish and molluscan shellfish from the
affected waters or of unknown origin, RTB said.
Members of the public and fishermen
can assist the Fisheries Department in reporting any water
discoloration or any mass fish mortalities by contacting the telephone
