PEMODA On Goodwill Trip To
Pontianak

Begawan - A group of 35 Darussalam Motorcycle Association (PEMODA)
members yesterday set off on a goodwill visit to Pontianak in
Kalimantan, Indonesia.
The move is part of PEMODA's annual
activity to strengthen ties with members of the Big Bikes Association
there.
The expedition, which involves 25
motorcycles and two back-up vehicles, was headed by Awg Hairel Hj
Simpul, PEMODA Social and Relation Secretary, and Awg Sam bin Hj Ahad,
Road Captain.
On hand to flag-off the expedition
from Jerudong Park was Haji Abu Bakar Hj Md Arsah, PEMODA President.
In his speech, the president urged
participating members to preserve the good name and image of both the
association and the country.
He also reminded them to exercise
extra precaution and to obey the traffic rules and regulations.
The group will stay in Sibu before
continuing their journey to Kuching the following day.
There, PEMODA members will join a
team of Victoria Armed Big Bike Kuching members before making their
way to Pontianak on March 24.
According to the president, the
annual activity does not only foster closer ties among big bike riders
in the region, but also provides an opportunity to promote the tourism
industry in both countries.
The group is expected to arrive on
March 29.
Meanwhile, six PEMODA members, led by
President Haji Abu Bakar, will be participating in the 'Asean
Brotherhood Journey.'
The Jakarta event is held in
conjunction with the ASEAN Big Bike Festival 2005.
The event - from April 22 to May 5 -
will cover a running tour of Jakarta and end in Bali. --
