Brunei Takes Part In Borneo Cup Lion Dance Contest

Bandar Seri Begawan - The recent 2nd Borneo Cup Lion Dance Competition in Miri drew the participation of 21 teams from Brunei Darussalam, Sabah, Sarawak and Indonesia.

The event was organised by Sehati Service and Information Centre of Sarawak, United People's Party and Selangor KL Lion Dance Association.

The three-day competition from March 18 to 20 was held at the Miri Indoor Stadium, as part of the upcoming Miri City Day celebration on May 20.

Sabah troupes took the top three positions in the final. Sabah troupes Inanam Yick Nam School Teams `A' and `B' ranked in first and second place, respectively

Sandakan Kin Ket Sports Club Team `A' came in third place.

The first place winner walked away with a RM5,000 cash prize, challenge trophy and medals, while the second and third place winners bagged RM4,000 and RM3,000 respectively. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
