Deputy Minister Makes Surprise
Visit To Motivational Camp

Begawan - Pehin Dato Paduka Hj Suyoi bin Hj Osman, the Deputy
Minister of Education, made a surprise visit to the Berakas
Recreational Forest Reserve yesterday morning.
The deputy minister took a closer
look at the motivational camp for uniformed groups (scouts, girl
guides, red crescent, police cadet and army cadet) of secondary
schools.
The camp, which began last Saturday,
is being participated in by 101 youths and 24 teachers from 12
secondary schools in the Brunei-Muara District and one school from
Temburong District.
He also inspected the facilities
around the camp site and talked to some of the participants about
their camping experience.
To commemorate the visit, he planted
a sapling.
Accompanying the deputy minister were
Hj Mahrub bin Hj Murni, the Acting Director of Co-curriculum Education
Department, Ministry of Education, and other senior officials from the
department.
Among the aims of the annual camp,
which is held during the school holidays, is to motivate youths to
become more proactive, productive, efficient, innovative and
responsible individuals. --
