20 Youths Attend Nadwah Course
By Laila Rahman
Bandar Seri
Begawan - The Course Unit of the Disseminate Dakwah Section of
the Dakwah Islamiah Centre organised a Nadwah Course to enhance the
understanding of the youth on Islamic teachings.
Twenty students from four government
secondary schools, three from the Brunei-Muara District and one from
the Tutong District, are attending the five-day course, which will end
on March 25.
The participants are required to stay
at the Dakwah Islamiah Centre hostel.
The course is targeted at students,
who have problems with discipline and in their academic performance.
Among the objectives are to enhance
the awareness and understanding of youths on Islamic teachings and to
shoulder responsibilities towards parents, leaders, teachers and the
community as a whole.
Instilling greater awareness among
the course participants on the importance of knowledge and upgrading
their skills of learning are vital to prepare them in facing the
various challenges in life.
To encourage and train the younger
generation to practice healthy physical habits and build strong
mentality and spiritual strength are equally crucial to prepare them
for the modern lifestyle today.
Exposure to the teaching techniques
from Islamic perspective and to the way of living based on Islamic
teachings would hopefully help youths face their future with
confidence.
Nadwah
Course was held twice in 1995 but due to lack of facilitators it was
postponed in 1997. In 2002, the course was revived.
At the end of the course, the
participants will be presented with certificates of participation.
