New Bike Unveiled For Local Market

Bandar Seri Begawan - A large crowd of local bikers turned up to see the unveiling of the Yamaha MT-0 1 for the Brunei market by Mr. Liew, BM Supply manager, at Jln Beribi.

The Yamaha MT-01 is the first line of naked motorcycles in the Yamaha family.

It first appeared in 1999 as a prototype in the Tokyo motor show.

The encouraging response prompted Yamaha to start production of the concept bike two years ago to target a new group, who wants a naked bike with the raw power of a cruiser.

Build for power and speed, the Yamaha MT O1 is equipped with 1700 cc V twin engine, the same with the Road Star warrior.

The add-on feature of the new EXUP system for the MT-01 Exhaust plus the newly designed high rigidity CF Aluminium die cast frame gives Yamaha MT-01 a powerful speed of 90bhp at 470rpm.

The fully adjustable Yamaha RI style inverted fork helps give riders greater movement around the curve and cope with potholes on the road. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
