Princess Graces RBA’s Charity Netball

Bandar Seri Begawan – Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Sarah binti Pengiran Salleh Ab Rahaman attended the Royal Brunei Airlines Charity Netball Tournament yesterday at the Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.

The Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund organised the event.

On arrival, Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri was greeted by Datin Hajjah Rosnah, wife of the Chairman of Royal Brunei Airlines, and Dayangku Halizah binti Pengiran Mat Jair, Chairlady of the Organising Committee.

In her welcoming address, the chairlady of the organising committee, among others, hoped that this tournament would become a module to other parties to produce confident young generations, open minded, charismatic and responsible and to uphold the country's sovereignty.

Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri was then introduced to the managers of the teams taking part in the tournament.

A total of 21 teams took part in the charity tournament.

The three-day tournament began last Friday.

Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri watched a final netball tournament between the Blunettes Team and Jade One team.

In this final tournament, the Jade One team beat the Blunettes.

The tournament also aimed at giving chances to netball players to develop sports, especially young ladies.

Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri later presented prizes to the winners and to the participating teams.

Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri also presented a cheque worth $2,100 to Datin Hajah Adina binte Haji Othman, Director of Community Development, who is also the Secretary of the Tsunami Disaster Relief fund Committee.
