Crown Prince Awards Exemplary
Citizens

Begawan - His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Pengiran Muda Hj
Al-Muhtadee Billah yesterday presented honorary medals to 558 Brunei
citizens at the Dewan Persantapan Lapau in the capital.
The medals were awarded with the
consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei, in
conjunction with the Monarch's 58th birthday celebration.
The recipients comprising of civil
servants from the ministerial and governmental departments, uniformed
personnel and private sectors were awarded for having shown exemplary
records in their work conduct.
A total of 31 personnel were
presented the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) or Meritorious Service
Medals. Some 276 others received the Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (PIKB) or
Medal for Services to the State.
The Pingat Kerja Lama (PKL), which
concluded the line-up of medal presentations, was awarded to 251
recipients.
Present at the ceremonious event were
Pg Cheterias, cabinet ministers, and members of the council,
diplomatic corps, permanent secretaries and department heads.
To bless the day, Pehin Dato Imam
Ustaz Awg Hj Hamid led the thanksgiving prayers.
This is the third of such ceremonies,
bringing to an end the presentation of honorary medals in conjunction
with His Majesty's 58`h birthday celebration. With this, a total of
1,671 Brunei citizens have been honoured the award.
The first batches of 540 honorary
medal recipients were awarded on March 14, while the second hatch of
573 recipients were awarded on March 16. --
