No names were allowed to be published to protect their identities.

The defendant first pleaded guilty to raping his 13-year-old granddaughter in 2002 and admitted to the same offence when the victim was aged 14 and 15 in 2003 and in March last year, respectively.

He faces an imprisonment term of up to 30 years but no whipping as the defendant is over 50 years old.

The defendant also admitted to trying to rape the victim's sister in early March 2004 and in late March 2004 when she was 13.

This is an offence punishable under section 376(2) of the Penal Code, Chapter 22 that carries an imprisonment term of not less than eight years and not more than 30 years and whipping no less than 12 strokes.

But still no whipping would be given to the defendant.
