Royal Thai Navy hosts reception

The Royal Thai Navy hosted a warm
reception on board their ship HTMS Naresuan on Friday night for
personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the diplomatic corps
community in the Sultanate.
Present at the function was the
Commander of RBAF, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri
Hj Awg Halbi, who was greeted by Rear-Admiral Witoon Kumpeerapana,
Commander of the Royal Thai Naval Cadet Training Unit 2005.
Among the guests present last Friday
were Thailand Ambassador to Brunei, Mr. Sunthon Niyornyath, and Brunei
Ambassador to Thailand, Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Shariffudin, who
were both accompanied by their spouses.
During the reception, the Royal Thai
Navy got the chance to enhance ties with their counterparts from the
Royal Brunei Navy in a warm social setting. The Royal Thai Navy cadets
presented a series of entertainment programmes highlighting Thailand's
culture and tradition at the reception.
Part of the Royal Thai Navy's
three-day itinerary in Brunei also included a friendly golf tournament
with their counterparts at the RBRC Golf Club as well as watching the
ongoing Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy Asean football championship.
The fleet of three Royal Thai Navy
ships which are currently docked at Muara Port arrived on Thursday.
The stopover was part of a training programme for the naval cadets.
The Royal Thai Navy departs today for
their next destination, Cambodia.
