The Royal Thai Navy hosted a warm reception on board their ship HTMS Naresuan on Friday night for personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the diplomatic corps community in the Sultanate.

Among the guests present last Friday were Thailand Ambassador to Brunei, Mr. Sunthon Niyornyath, and Brunei Ambassador to Thailand, Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Shariffudin, who were both accompanied by their spouses.

During the reception, the Royal Thai Navy got the chance to enhance ties with their counterparts from the Royal Brunei Navy in a warm social setting. The Royal Thai Navy cadets presented a series of entertainment programmes highlighting Thailand's culture and tradition at the reception.

Part of the Royal Thai Navy's three-day itinerary in Brunei also included a friendly golf tournament with their counterparts at the RBRC Golf Club as well as watching the ongoing Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy Asean football championship.

The fleet of three Royal Thai Navy ships which are currently docked at Muara Port arrived on Thursday. The stopover was part of a training programme for the naval cadets.
