The three military ships - HTMS
Naresuan, HTMS Bangpakong and HTMS Surin - of the Royal Thai Navy
currently docked at Muara Port attracted many visitors.
The warships were open to the public
yesterday from 9am to 4pm.
Many parents took the opportunity by
bringing along their children for a visit of the warships.
Upon arrival on board the HTMS
Searesuan, the visitors were greeted by one of the naval officers and
later taken on a tour of the vessel so that they could take a closer
look at the equipment and facilities on board the warship.
The fleet carrying 870 naval
officers, naval cadets, enlisted and nonmilitary rank personnel
arrived on Thursday for a three-day visit. The stopover was part of a
training programme for the naval cadets of the Royal Thai Naval Cadet
Training Unit 2005.
The three Navy ships started their
journey on February 10 from the Sattahip Naval Base, making their way
to Shanghai in China and then Manila in the Philippines before
arriving in Brunei.
They will continue the journey to
Cambodia before heading back to Sattahip Naval Base.
