Local Students At Formula One Race
In Malaysia

Begawan - Six students flew to Kuala Lumpur yesterday to watch
the Malaysian Grand Prix as guests of Dato Seri Hishammuddin Tun
Hussein¸ Malaysia's Education Minister.
During the his visit to the Sultanate
March 6-8, the Malaysian minister met with design and technology
students in Rimba Primary School I as part of his visit to schools in
Brunei.
After he met with students studying
the aspects of car design such as aerodynamics, he extended an
invitation to six students to come to this Sunday's Formula One race
to learn more about car designs at motor racing's most prestigious
platform.
Four students from Paduka Seri
Begawan Sultan Science College and Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Secondary
School as well as two from Rimba Primary School I were selected to
take part in the trip.
Speaking at the airport, Mohd Johnny
Aqil bin Abdullah Tan, one of the teachers taking the students to
Kuala Lumpur, said the group was excited to go on the trip. The
students at his school had studied the design aspects of cars and had
even put together a mock-up car in class.

Siti Nurul Azlan binti Zakaria, one of the students going to KL, is
eager to look at the designs of the Formula One cars.
Meanwhile, her schoolmate, Awang Md
Yazid bin Yusof hopes to learn more about the cars' aerodynamics.
On hand to bid farewell to the
children were Hjh Norjum Hj Yusop, Acting Director of Schools; Datin
Hjh Khadijah Hj Ali Akbar, Senior Officer from the Ministry of
Education; Hanip Hj Md. Salleh and Umi Kalsom Kamadin, counsellors
from the Malaysian High Commission; and, family members of the
students. --
