SUAMPRIPAD Awards Best Students

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Arabic Religious Secondary School for Girls (SUAMPRIPAD) yesterday held an award presentation ceremony for its top students.

Held at the school's main hall, the event was graced by guest of honour, Ustazah Hjh Kasmah Hj Siput, the Director of Islamic Studies at the Ministry of Education.

The function commenced with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Form 4 student Dyg Syairah Hj Salim.

In a welcoming speech, Ustazah Piah Hj Md Saat, Chairperson of the event cum School Principal, congratulated the recipients and also thanked both the teachers and parents for their encouragement and support.

Later, a speech was delivered by the guest of honour, in which she encouraged the school to be resourceful and to develop new educational software for teaching so as to replace traditional methods like chalk and talk.

A total of 75 students received the Best Student Awards for achieving the best results in the 2004 year-end examination.

The Best Student Award for PMB went to three students. They are Hadijah Hj Shukri, Mukramah Hj Abd Shomad and Nazeerah Jurulaki Johan Ariffin. Each of them scored six A1’s.

Meanwhile, the Best Student Award for the Sijil Pelajaran Ugama (SPU) and GCE `O' Level exam went to Nurul Shazwani Hj Abdul Kadir. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
