National Day Celebration At Lambak Kanan Mosque

Bandar Seri Begawan - Residents at Mukim Berakas "B" took part in the 21st National Day Celebration for two consecutive days starting on March 13 at the Lambak Kanan Mosque.

The Majlis Perundingan Kampong Berakas "B" organized it in collaboration with the Takhmir Committee members of Masjid Lambak Kanan and `Gerakan Ibu Bapa dan Belia Membasmi Penyalahgunaan Dadah Perpindahan Lambak Kanan'.

The first day of celebration was launched by the chief guest for the function, Awg Hj Jemat Bin Haji Ampal, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Outdoor activities held on March 13 included mass aerobics, donation for the Tsunami Fund, walkathon and colouring competitions for children.

There were also talks on drug abuse delivered by officials from the Narcotic Control Bureau along with whipping demonstrations by officials from the Department of Prison as well as anti-drug exhibition.

The second day featured a forum held at the Lambak Kanan Mosque.

The chief guest was Dato Seri Setia Haji Yussof Bin Haji Ismail, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The evening events on that day included mass prayers of Solat Fardhu Maghrib and Solat Sunnat Hajat as well as a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
