More Donations For Tsunami Fund

Bandar Seri Begawan - Established more than two months ago, the Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund still continues to receive contributions from various organisations in the country.

On Monday night, it received B$6,356.28 from the Takmir Committee of Kg Bunut Mosque, Village Consultative Council of Perpindahan Kg Bunut, Kg Tasek Meradun-Bunut, Kg MadewaTelanai-Sungai Ketam and Youth Association of Buntu (IKERAB), in a ceremony at the RBA Golf Club.

Guests of honour at the function were Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Lela Dato Seri Paduka (Dr) Hj Hussein Pehin Orang Kaya Digadong Seri Diraja Dato Laila Utama Hj Mohd Yusof, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, and Pehin Jawatan Luar Pekerma Raja Dato Seri Utama Dr Ustaz Hj Md Zain Hj Serudin, Minister of Religious Affairs.

Also present were Pehin Datu Kerma Setia Zainuddin Jalani, Acting Police Commissioner, and Hj Jemat Hj Ampal, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The event began with a recital of the Surah Al-Fatihah by Imam Hj Abdullah BPK Hj Abd Wahid.

The donation was handed over to Datin Hjh Adina, Secretary of the Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund cum Director of Community Development. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
