Man Jailed Two Months For Snatching Bag

Bandar Seri Begawan - A 26-year-old local man was jailed for two months starting yesterday after he pleaded guilty to a charge of theft before the Bandar Magistrate's Court.

Zulazmi bin Hj Zakaria was with an accomplice when he snatched a handbag from a 28- year-old woman at Chong Hock Music Centre, Mile 1, Jalan Tutong on January 23, according to Prosecuting Officer Christopher Ng.

The court further heard that the defendant and his accomplice had been in the shop for a while before committing the crime.

Zulazmi snatched the red handbag, which had been left on the sales counter, before fleeing the scene.

The bag contained keys, cosmetic items, and a purse carrying $500 cash and identity cards. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
