Crown Prince Presents Honorary Medals To 540 Civil Servants

Bandar Seri Begawan – His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan Brunei, has awarded honorary medals of Brunei to 540 recipients in conjunction with His Majesty's 58th birthday celebration.

His Majesty was represented at the ceremony by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah yesterday at a ceremony at the Dewan Persantapan Lapau in the capital.

Leading the list of awardees was Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Maharaja Diraja Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awandj Abdul Wahab bin Haji Mohamad Said, who received the Pingat Bakti Laila Iklas (PBLI).

The Crown Prince also awarded the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) or Meritorious Medals to 38 people.

Among the recipients were government servants from various ministries and departments as well as members of uniformed personnel.

Among the criteria for receiving the medals were undivided loyalty to His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei, the nation and religion.

Meanwhile, 254 people received the Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (PIKB) and another 247 others were awarded with the Pingat Kerja Lama or Long Service Medals.

The recipients are expected to maintain good records in all services with His Majesty's government, including national security and good conduct.

To bless the ceremony, a Doa Selamat was read by Pehin Dato Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz, the State Mufti.

Among those present at the ceremony were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Councils, Deputy Ministers and Pehin-Pehin Manteri.
