Crown Prince Ends Singapore Visit At Football Match

Singapore - His Royal Highness Crown Prince Pg Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pg Anak Isteri Pg Anak Sarah last night watched an S-League Championship football match, RTB reported.

Upon arrival at the Bedok Stadium, the Crown Prince and HRH were greeted by Singapore's Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean and Vice President of the Football Association of Singapore Zainudin Nordin.

Also present was Prince Abdul Qawi. Prior to the kick-off, the Crown Prince was introduced to players from both teams, Geylang United and Albirex Nigata. The match ended in a one-all draw.

The programme was the last itinerary in the royal couple's official visit to Singapore before departing the republic.

Present at the Changi International Airport yesterday afternoon to bid farewell to Their Royal Highnesses were Singapore's Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean and wife; Minister-of-State Cedric Foo, as minister-in-attendance, and wife; High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam in Singapore Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof bin Pengiran Kula and Datin; and Singapore's High Commissioner in Brunei VP Hirubalan and wife.

Their Royal Highnesses' official visit to Singapore was upon the invitation of the Singaporean defence minister, which reflected the warm and cordial relationship between Brunei and Singapore.

The highlights of the visit included a dinner hosted by Singapore President SR Nathan and wife; the Crown Prince's meetings with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, and Defence Minister Teo Chee Bean.

During the visit, HRH also toured several Singapore military sites that housed an array of sophisticated military weapons and equipment. Accompanying the Crown Prince was Prince Abdul Qawi.
