Baiduri's Achievements Highlighted In KB Dinner

Kuala Belait - More than 350 invited guests attended a Chinese New Year Dinner hosted by the Baiduri Bank for its customers and business partners based in Seria and Kuala Belait last Friday.

Baiduri Bank General Manager Pierre Imhof, reiterated some of the major achievements of Baiduri Bank Group in 2004.

They included the launch of new products, including the Baiduri Ladies Card. Home Ownership Loan, Home Refinancing Loan and Home Equity Loan, the 10th Anniversary Savings Account Promotion and Credit Card Balance Transfer programme.

The year 2004 also saw Baiduri Bank opening two branches in Tutong and The Mall shopping complex and the relocation of Baiduri Card Centre.

Baiduri Bank was awarded the Bank of the Year Award by the Banker magazine, Financial Times Business United Kingdom for the third consecutive year. To commemorate the bank's outstanding performance, it received a Bracken AvN and from the internationally renowned publication.

"We have acquired the prestigious American Express franchise in Brunei and have just launched the first Baiduri American Express Credit Card. We are now the only bank in Brunei issuing three major credit card brands: Visa, Mastercard and American Express." said Mr Imhof.

To further support the development of Chinese communities in SeriaandKualaBelait, Baiduri Bank providedfinancial assistance for underprivileged students from Chung Hwa School Labi and Chung Lian School Sg Liang.

The donations were presented by Mr Pierre Imhof to Mr Bong Teck Min, School Governor of Chung Hwa School Lahi and Mr Henry Ling Teem Hock, School Governor of Chung Lian School Sg Liang.

Guests were entertained by the performance of Mediacorp artiste Irene Ang.

She is better known as "Mrs Rosie Phua" from Singapore's highestrated sitcom Phua Chu Kang, and was named Best Female Conteuian at the Asia Television Awards.

Mark Lee, comedian-actor who has starred in Money No Enough (1998), Liang Po Po (1999), I Not Stupid (2002), I Do I Do (2004) and Holland V (2004), also performed. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
