Razali Wins In National Shooting
Championship

Begawan - The crowd witnessed a nail-biting final in the Men's
Skeet event when Razali bin Tagal edged Kamis Juing with a grand total
score of 118-117 in a shootout at the first National Shooting
Championship yesterday afternoon.
Before this, both marksmen were tied
after five rounds of shooting at the Jerudong Trap and Skeet Shooting
Range.
Both marksmen were in fine form
pulling away from the rest of the field with their consistency and
precision shooting.
After five rounds, Razali of Royal
Brunei Armed Forces and Kamis of Prison Department were tied at 97 a
piece.
As a result of draw, the winner was
to be decided in a shoot out round and Razali rose to the occasion to
be the rightful winner after Kamis missed his shot
Third place of the event went to Md
Harno bin Hj Abd Ghani of Royal Brunei Police Force.
The jury of the final match-up of the
shooting championship was HRH Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah.
On Thursday, Norsizlillawati binti Hj
Basri snatched home the ladies skeet event title with a grand total of
60 points.
Second place went to Mardiana binti
Hj Sarudin with a grand total of 59 and in third place was Siti Aishah
binti Haji Aji @ Hj Ali with a grand total of 54.
The award for the overall best
shooter in the Men's Skeet event went to Pg Dato Paduka Haji
Kamaluddin bin Pg Haji Besar while the award for overall best shooter
in the Men's Trap event went to Awang Nikles Mulok.
The guest-of-honour, Haji Jemat bin
Haji Ampal, the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Culture, Youth and
Sports presented the prizes to the winners yesterday and also
officially closed the live-day shooting championship.
Also present at the closing ceremony
was Awang Japar bin Bangkol, the chairperson of the organising
committee for the championship. --
