Medicare For Overseas Filipinos Integrated Into Philhealth

Bandar Seri Begawan – Collections of Medicare premiums at overseas posts have been temporarily suspended following the integration of the Medicare Program for Overseas Filipino Workers and their dependents into Philhealth since March 1 this year.

This was disclosed today by Welfare Officer Marivic Garcia who said that the integration was in line with the issuance of EO No. 182 dated Feb. 14, 2003 as amended by EO 32 dated Dec 28, 2004.

It is also with the approval of the implementing Rules and Regulations of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Health insurance Corporation (Philhealth) on January 27, 2005.

WelOf Garcia added that all payments and renewals of Medicare coverage and claims for reimbursements can be made at PhilHealth Office at 18th Flr, City State Center 709 Shaw Boulevard, Pasig City, Philippines.
