More Donations From Brunei Scouts
To Tsunami Survivors
Bandar Seri
Begawan - The Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association yesterday
readied more donations for the tsunami survivors in Aceh.
The contributions, given by generous
donors nationwide, were packed in boxes and loaded into four
containers, ready to be shipped to the Indonesian province.
Members of the Scouts Association led
by Awang Haji Zainal Abidin, their Chief Commissioner, yesterday
morning made a final inspection on the donations in the form of
clothing.
The shipment is expected to reach
Medan via Singapore within 15 days.
In Medan, the donation will be
received by the Gerakan Pramuka Indonesia, the Scout Association in
Medan, which will distribute the donations to the survivors in Aceh.
In January this year, the Brunei
Darussalam Scout Association shipped a total of 13 containers
containing clothing, food and drinking water to Aceh.
Since the association set up a centre
in January to enable members of the public to help the tsunami
victims, it has received an overwhelming response
However, the association has stopped
receiving clothes and encourage the people to give cash instead until
the end of this month.
Those who wish to give money to the
tsunami relief fund do so at the association's Headquarters in Beribi.
