33 Religious Teachers Expose To
Islamic Preaching

- A dakwah exploration 2005 is now going on in the Temburong
District to give religious teachers a hands-on experience on the
Islamic preaching activities in the country.
Thirty-two participants comprising of
lecturers and teachers are involved in the three-day program.
Yesterday, the participants were able
to witness a conversion ceremony of an Iban family of five from Mukim
Amo.
The function was held at the
residence of Awang Hj Mohd Hashim in Kampung Amo 'C'.
The family was led by Awang Unyat
Anak Enyau, 68, who is now known as Muhammad Rais bin Abdul Rahman.
Since January this year, 12 people in
the district have embraced Islam as their new faith.
The Islamic Dakwah Centre continues
to provide assistance for the welfare of new converts.
Three families in the Temburong
District were among the latest recipients benefiting from such
assistance.
Dayang
Hajah Zasia binti Sirin, the Director of the Islamic Dakwah Centre,
handed over three sets of grass cutting machines to the heads of the
families.
The recipients are among a group of
people, who are chosen to take part in the orange plantation scheme in
Kampung Selapon '2'.
The scheme allocates each family a
two-acre land to grow the sweet-type of orange.
