Yesterday, the participants were able to witness a conversion ceremony of an Iban family of five from Mukim Amo.

The function was held at the residence of Awang Hj Mohd Hashim in Kampung Amo 'C'.

The family was led by Awang Unyat Anak Enyau, 68, who is now known as Muhammad Rais bin Abdul Rahman.

Since January this year, 12 people in the district have embraced Islam as their new faith.

The Islamic Dakwah Centre continues to provide assistance for the welfare of new converts.

Three families in the Temburong District were among the latest recipients benefiting from such assistance.

Dayang Hajah Zasia binti Sirin, the Director of the Islamic Dakwah Centre, handed over three sets of grass cutting machines to the heads of the families.

The recipients are among a group of people, who are chosen to take part in the orange plantation scheme in Kampung Selapon '2'.

The scheme allocates each family a two-acre land to grow the sweet-type of orange. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
