Understanding the importance of correct mailing address

Some 50 people - comprising heads of government departments, village heads and chiefs, as well as school principals - attended the 'Correct Mailing Address' Campaign held at the Belait District Office earlier this week

The objectives of the campaign are to raise public awareness on the correct mailing address and to inform the public of a mechanisation project - where two machines are utilised to sort out mails more efficiently.

Delivering his welcoming remarks, Deputy Postmaster General Awg Hj Azahari bin Mohd Ali later outlined the importance of the correct mailing address.

A briefing was also delivered by Assistant Postmaster General (Operation) Awg Hamir bin Mohd Salleh, in which he highlighted the importance of the quality of envelopes used for mailing.

It was learnt that envelopes with staples, rubber bands and holes could damage the mail sorting machines, while others that are too thick or possess windows could not be read by the sensors of the machines.

A question-and-answer session was later held to provide answers to the participants.

The briefing was part of the activities organised for the campaign, which will move on to the Temburong District on March 10.
