Japanese `Destroyers' Heading For Brunei Shores

Bandar Seri Begawan - Three ships from the Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) will be sailing into Brunei waters as part of a training course and goodwill tour on March 8.

The destroyers from the JMSDF Overseas Training Unit will carry a crew of 550, including 95 cadets, who will stay in Brunei until March 11.

Throughout their stay, the destroyers - Hatsuyuki, Hamayuki and Isoyuki - will be berthed at the Muara Commercial Wharf.

The Overseas Training Unit has made several similar visits to Brunei in the past.

All visits have been successful in enhancing mutual cooperation between the Brunei Navy (RBN) and JMSDF, developing closer relations and fostering bilateral ties between the two countries.
