Indonesian Envoy Meets Workers
In Temburong

Begawan - Mr Yusbar Djamii, Ambassador of the Republic of
Indonesia to Brunei, paid a two-day working visit to Temburong
recently to meet with the Indonesian community in the district.
The trip was aimed at meeting with
the Indonesian community members in Temburong who wished to express
their sympathy and make donations to alleviate the sufferings of the
tsunami victims in Aceh and North Sumatra.
The ambassador was accompanied by
his wife, Ibu Praptiningsih Yusbar, and senior personnel at the
Indonesian Embassy.
More than 100 Indonesians attended
the meeting at Sekolah Persediaan Arab Pekan Bangar Temburong, where
Indonesian geologists Bambang Gumilar and Herman Darman, who work at
Brunei Shell Petroleum Company in Seria, gave a presentation on the
earthquake and tsunami that devastated Aceh and North Sumatra on
December 26, 2004.
The ambassador also paid a courtesy
call to Awg Syahminan bin Haji Tengah, Acting Temburong District
Officer, during which he applauded His Majesty for being the first
head of state to visit tsunami-hit Aceh early this month.
He also expressed his gratitude to
the Sultan and the people of Brunei for providing emergency relief
to Indonesia as well as committing themselves to the upcoming
process of rehabilitation and reconstruction. --
