Billah College has more science students this year than every before,
surpassing the maximum capacity of 600. On top of the 648 students
that are registered with the college's science course, there is also a
dramatic increase in students that are qualified for A-levels (948 of
the students are from Brunei Muara and Temburong districts).
This was stated by the principal of
the college, Cikgu Awang Haji Mahrub bin Haji Murni during a
thanksgiving ceremony for the commencement of students, held at the
school auditorium yesterday afternoon.
The ceremony marked the closing of
two-day orientation programme for new students.
Attended by students and their
parents, the event began with a recital of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed
by national and school anthems, performed by the choir.
The principal presented to the
audience the college's vision, mission and goals, before introducing
the administrative personnel, organisational structure of the school
and its facilities.
The ceremony concluded with a recital
of Surah Yassin and a Doa Selamat.
The college currently offers 79
A-level subjects.
