Car accident involving a 4WD-vehicle and a Saloon car in Seria.
A tragic accident, which involved
two vehicles - a 4WD-vehicle and a saloon car- occurred near
Syarikat Minyak Brunei Shell (BSP), Lorong Tiga housing area at
around 5.30 pm yesterday.
The 4WD-vehicle, which nearly
turned turtle, had a pregnant woman trapped inside. Fortunately,
members of the public managed to pull her out of the car and
rushed her to a nearby hospital.
Of the five child passengers
that the vehicle was carrying, two children (a boy and a girl)
were thrown out of the car. Both were reported to be in serious
condition.
Awang Saifol bin Saad, an
eye-witness told the Borneo Bulletin that he was on his way home
from Seria to KB when he saw the accident happen.
According to him, the boy was
rescued first, while another rescuer was attending to the aid of
the girl.
According to another source,
the car, which had overturned, was carrying 8 passengers; the
driver, around the age of 40, who sustained minor injuries; an
elderly man in his 60s; a pregnant woman and children between 1
and 6 years old.
The driver of the saloon car
was reported to be free from any injuries while all those in the
overturned vehicle was rushed to Panaga Hospital.
