The flagship of the world's most sought after car - the
new BMW 7 series - made its dramatic entrance last night
at the Empire Theatre in a glittering show.
The Brunei launching of
the new BMW 7 series was graced by Guest of Honour, Her
Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah
Zariah, who is Chairperson of QAF Brunei Group of
Companies.
HRH was accompanied by
Prince Abdul Qawi, Executive Deputy Chairman and Director
of QAF Brunei, and other members of the royal family to an
event described as one of the most unique ceremonies of
its kind.
A large and distinguished
gathering of guests was invited to have the first look -
in the sultanate - at the most luxurious German
automobile.
The evening kicked off
with a mesmerising musical presentation of innovative
renditions from the hit movie Moulin Rouge.
Hetty Sarlene was also
specially flown in from Singapore to sing some of her hit
songs as well as rhythm and blues numbers.
Then, the curtains were
raised to unveil the three models of the new BMW 7 Series.
HRH Pengiran Anak Isteri
Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah, Prince Abdul Qawi and other
members of the royal family were given the privilege to
view first the BMW 745Li - the top model of the new 7
Series.
The two other models on
the stage were the 745i and 735i.
It was then the guests'
turn to come onto the stage to take a closer view of the
luxury cars.
Earlier, Dato Paduka Chua
Pheng Siong, General Manager of QAF Motor Group (members
of QAF Brunei), said, "In this exciting event in the
motoring industry of Brunei Darussalam - the launch of the
new BMW 7 Series - the flagship of BMW, we believe, will
pioneer the trend of future motoring around the
world".
"Tonight's launching
is not just a mere presentation of a new model. It is more
than that. It is an initiation of a new experience in
motoring, setting the direction for the whole BMW brand
and setting new benchmarks as the most prestigious sports
limousine in the world.
"A magnificent car
deserves special attention. QAF Auto together with the
support of BMW has not speared efforts and expenses to
ensure that services par excellence are provided to valued
BMW customers.
"In preparation for
the new 7 Series, QAF Auto has sent its trainers and
technicians to Munich in Germany and the BMW regional
training centre in Singapore for intensive training and
technology enhancement."
In conjunction with the
new 7 Series launching, Mr Christian Hairian, BMW Asia
Area Manager, praised QAF Auto, for its contribution in
promoting the BMW vehicles.
