Dialogue On Promoting Oral Health & Prevention Programme

Bandar Seri Begawan - A half-day dialogue on Oral Health Promotion and Prevention Programme hosted by the Depatinient of Dental Services, Ministry of Health, took place at the Le Galleria Suites in Jalan Tutong yesterday afternoon.

The event began with a welcoming speech by the guest of honour, CEO of Department of Dental Services, Hjh Norsiah Hj Johan, who amongst all noted that the objective of the session was to establish cooperative ties with the private sectors to shoulder the responsibilities in promoting oral health in the country. This initiative serves as one of the action plans in the Oral Health Agenda of the Department of Dental Services and to raise awareness to the public as well as promote the importance of oral health.

It is hoped that through the session, it will help the private sectors to work together with MoH to realise the stated objectives.

A presentation on "Working Together for Better Oral Health" was then delivered by Senior Dental Officer and Head of Oral Health Surveillance & Research Unit, who is also the Head of Fluoride Unit Department of Dental Services, Dr James Lee.

He also delivered presentations on the health and financial impacts as well as the overview of oral health in Brunei Darussalam to the participants at the dialogue.

The participants comprised personnel from private companies such as Sunlit Advertising, Utama Grand, LSL Group, IBIC-Sehat, Sin Kiew Hin Department Store, Hotmart, TelBru, TLT Enterprise and Giant Supermarket. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
