New Phone Directory Launched

Bandar Seri Begawan - The new telephone directory of Brunei Darussalam 2007/8 is significantly easier for the eyes with a new look vibrant blue colour and images of children playing on a laptop computer on the front and back covers.

"This year's cover design signifies the role of ICT in our life and the colour represents the fun, vibrancy and excitement of the youthful generation in the online world," said Song Kin Koi, managing director of TelBru, at the launching ceremony of the new telephone directory, yesterday.

The launch was organised by TelBru in collaboration with GTE Directories (B) Sdn Bhd and took place at Te1Bru Headquarters, Old Airport Road.

Present to officiate the new telephone directory-cum-yellow pages was TelBru's Chairman, Dato Padri ka Hj Othman Hj Ya'akub.

The ceremony was also attended by senior officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Pusat Ehsan AlAmeerah Al-Hajjah Maiyam, GTE Directories and TelBru.

The GTE directories have also added two new sections to its guide pages, the Health Guide and Computer Guide.

The Health Guide section contains various health tips.

In keeping with the ICT theme, the new Computer Guide section contains in formation on how to choose a computer and other computer-related information.

The GTE Directories launched their official website last year at yp.com.bn where the public can access the new telephone directory. According to the general manager of GTE Directories, James Lee Kok Choo, GTE also has the soft copy of the telephone directory in CD-ROM, which will be uploaded onto the website shortly.-- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
