SR Rimba 1 chess winners

Bandar Seri Begawan - Rimba 1 Primary School were the winners of the 2007 Age Group Brunei Muara Primary School Chess Championship yesterday. Mohd Yassin Primary School came in second and in third place were Dato Ahmad Primary School

The championship was held in collaboration with the Brunei Chess Federation and the Co-curriculum Education Department. The guest-of-honour Arsad bin Abdul Adis, Director of Co-curriculum, Ministry of Education, gave away the prizes to the winners.

Among those present were the Vice-President of the Brunei Chess Federation, Pg Abd Rahman bin PLW Hj Yusof, national chess coach Vakhidov Tair and Nudin bin Hj Mohammad, tournament director and headmaster of Rimba 1 Primary School.

The championship was divided into three categories - category A for those that are below eight years old, category B (below 10 years old) and category C (below 12 years).-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
