Singapore Air Force Chief Awarded

Begawan - Singapore's Chief of Air Force, Brigadier General Ng
Chee Khern was awarded the Royal Brunei Air Force Honorary Pilot Wing
yesterday.
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang
Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to award Brigadier
General Ng Chee Khern in recognition of his outstanding service,
valuable efforts and contributions to strengthening the ties between
the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) and Republic of Singapore Air
Force.
Brigadier General Ng Chee Khern is
the second Singapore Air Force Chief to receive such an honour. The
Royal Brunei Air Force Honorary Pilot Wing was presented to Brigadier
General Ng Chee Khern by the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed
Forces, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Hi Awg
Halbi, at Rimba Airbase yesterday morning.
Brigadier General Ng Chee Khern later
paid courtesy calls on the RBAF Commander at Bolkiah Garrison and the
Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force, Brigadier General (U) Dato Hj
Mahmud bin Hj Saidin at Rimba Air Base.
Brigadier General Ng Chee Khern is in
the Sultanate on an official visit from June 19 to 21. Brigadier
General Ng Chee Khern joined the service on January 3, 1984.
Throughout his long service, he has
held numerous and important appointments in the Republic of Singapore
Air Force, including Director of the Directorate Office for Joint
Operations and Planning at the Ministry of Defence. Before his current
appointment, he was the Chief of Staff of the Republic of Singapore
Air Force.
On March 24 this year, he was
officially appointed as the Chief of Air Force of the Republic of
Singapore.
He has also been awarded numerous
awards and decorations for his outstanding services and commitments,
including the SAF Postgraduate Scholarship in General Development, the
SAF Good Service Medal and The Long Service Awards.
Brigadier General Ng Chee Khern is
also a Masters Degree Holder in Public Administration from Harvard
University, United States ofAmerica and also a Master of Arts degree
holder from University of Oxford, United Kingdom. He is married to Mrs
Neo Poh Choo Elaine and is blessed with two wonderful children.
During his service, Brig. Gen. Ng
Chee Khern has made countless contributions in improving the
relationship between the Republic of Singapore Air Force and the Royal
Brunei Air Force.
He has also played a major role in
strengthening the relationship and cooperation among the Asean Air
Forces. --
