Tamaraws Get New Team Uniforms

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Western Union-Linktech Tamaraws team last night received their jerseys for the upcoming Tiong Hua Basketball Cup 2006 from their sponsors, in a ceremony at The Millennium Restaurant in Gadong.

The sponsors for the jerseys at the handover last night were the Deputy General Manager (Retail Banking and Branch Network) of Baiduri Bank, Ti Eng Hui representing Western Union, while its Managing Director Lau Kiew Yoi, represented Linktech Sdn Bhd.

The Tiong Hua Basketball Cup tournament is scheduled to start on June 25 and will be held at the BSBABA Basketball Court in Gadong. The annual event is organised in conjunction with His Majesty's 60th birthday, and is aimed at, among others, promoting good sportsmanship.

The all-Filipino Tamaraws are the defending champions from 2005. "We are very confident that this team will give a good competition to the tournament and will give fun and excitement to the public," said Tamaraws' head coach, Arnel Carnigal. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
