Man Struck By Lightning Dies In Football Field

Bandar Seri Begawan - A 30-year-old local Malay man died late Wednesday afternoon after being struck by lightning while playing football in Kg. Lumapas, near the capital.

An official from the RIPAS Hospital said the victim died on the spot. The victim was brought by his friend in a private car to the Accident and Emergency Section of the hospital.

The incident happened around 6.30pm during a heavy downpour. The Bulletin learnt that the deceased worked at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

People of all ages should take precaution and remain indoors during heavy downpours" to avoid such unfortunate incidents. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
