AEMC Inks Deal For e-Government

Bandar Seri Begawan - A significant milestone for the Asean-EC Management Centre (AEMC) was marked yesterday as it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)with B.S. Syscom (Brunei) Sdn Bhd to improve its current administration system.

As the country is gearing towards electronic system of governance (e-government), this move by AEMC - under the umbrella of the Prime Minister's Office - is seen as part of the ongoing e-government implementation plan to modernise the administration of the government departments and ministries in the country.

Signing the agreement for the Supply, Delivery, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of the PMONet-IT Network Infrastructure on behalf ofAEMC was Mr Abd Ghani Pg Hj Metusin, its Director, while Ms Ann Lim, Operations Manager, represented BS SYSCO (Brunei) Sdn Bhd.

Witnessing the signing ceremony at Irmas Room, AEMC Gadong, were both Pg Harun Pg Aliuddin, AEMC's Programme Manager, and Darryn Liew, BS Syscom (Brunei) Sdn Bhd Account Manager.

AEMC's IT network infrastructure is part of the PMO data centre of the Prime Minister's Office.

This project, expected to be completed in two months time, will be synchronized with the ongoing implementation of the PMONet-IT network infrastructure. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
