Indonesian Mom Pleads Guilty To Baby Killing Charges

Bandar Seri Begawan - The High Court adjourned the sentencing for a 37-year-old housemaid who pleaded guilty yesterday to causing the death of her newly-born baby boy. Sentencing will commence on June 19.

The defendant, Katini, a mother of five children, admitted to causing the death of her child by covering the infant's head with a black jacket and later placing the infant in a bucket in the toilet of a home.

She may face a jail term, which could extend up to 10 years, and shall also be liable to a fine, if convicted.

The offence ocearred on April 1st this year, between 6 to 6.30 pm at House No. 1, Simpang 773, Kampong Salambigar in Jalan Muara. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
