Sultan Greets Filipinos On Philippine Independence Day

Bandar Seri Begawan – His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah congratulated Her Excellency Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, President of the Republic of the Philippines, on the occasion of the Philippines Independence Day anniversary yesterday.

In his message, the Sultan of Brunei expressed his satisfaction with the great progress in bilateral relations and cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of the Philippines.

His Majesty also expressed his hope that such relationship would be maintained and further enhanced in the future, both bilaterally and in ASEAN.

He also hoped that President Arroyo would always remain in good health and happiness and for the people of the Republic of the Philippines to always enjoy continued progress and prosperity.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs also sent a congratulatory message to Delia Domingo-Albert, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines, on the occasion of the Philippines Independence Day.

In his message, His Royal Highness appreciated the personal initiatives the Philippines Secretary of Foreign Affairs has undertaken to strengthen relations between the two countries and the support Her Excellency has given to ASEAN Programmes.
