Distinguished guests at the opening of
the exhibition.
Featuring a total participation of
more than 29 booths comprising exhibitors from government enforcement
agencies as well as the private sector, the Crime Prevention
Exhibition, organised in conjunction with the 83rd Anniversary of the
Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) was officially launched yesterday.
The launch of the exhibition was
officiated by the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Dato Paduka
Awg Hj Adanan, at the lobby of the Mall yesterday.
The handing over of the Mobile Police
Post contributed by Abd Razak Holdings also took place yesterday.
Present to hand over the mock key to
the Deputy Minister was Pehin Dato Paduka Hj Abdul Hapidz, who then
presented it to the Commissioner of Police, Dato Paduka Awg Hj Abd
Rahman.
Among the participants were various
RBPF departments, police stations and sections, Fire Services
Department, Narcotics Control Bureau, as well as private security
firms such as Securicor, Koperasi Rimbun and Agensi Pengawal
Keselamatan Hj Yacob Tarudin and private firms dealing and selling
security equipment.
The Commissioner of Police in his
welcoming speech said that the event, which was held for the very
first time, was one of the RBPF's main projects in line with it's 83rd
Anniversary theme "Membentras Jenayah Bersama Masyarakat" (Combating
Crime with the Community).
The involvement of other government
enforcement agencies went on to show the unity between RBPF and other
government enforcement agencies in enforcing law and order in the
country, he said.
He further noted that although crime
statistics in the country shows an increase, the increased rate of
criminal cases are still within a control range as the international
index prepared by INTERPOL showed.
This, he added, was made possible
through the cooperation extended by citizens in combating activities
that could threaten the safety and tranquility of the nation.
