Local Architect Joins East Asia Future Leader Programme

Bandar Seri Begawan - Senior architect at Arkitek Idris Awang Zul'Amali Idris yesterday left for Japan to join the East Asia Future Leader Programme under the Japan East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS).

Funded by the Japan Asean Integration Fund, the programme is aimed to provide a deeper understanding of the different facets of the Japanese society, and to form the basis of future vision and build solidarity among Asian countries that will promote mutual understanding of the future generation of the East Asian community.

Awang Zul'Amali Idris will head to Yokohama, Kyoto and Kanzawa to witness Japan's leading examples of a creative city.

He will also tour Tokyo and Osaka for creative urban regeneration in mega cities.

Awang Zul'Amali Idris is scheduled to return on August 7. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
