HM's birthday golf winners

Rising young talented local golfer Faiz Damit captured the overall Gross winner trophy after hitting a total gross of 67 in the HM's Birthday International Amateur Open Golf Championship at the RBA Golf Club yesterday.

The ever-reliable Seruji Hj Setia has to be contended with second place with a score of 69 OCB and James Ryan Lam in third place with 69 gross.

The overall nett winner was Lt Col (Rtd) Hj Abd Rahman with a total score of 60 followed closely behind by Pg Hj Ali Pg Hj Tuah (61 OCB) and Ismail Hj Chuchu (61).

Sarinah Masri with a score of 66 was the Ladies Nett category winner followed by Siti Salwa (74) and Raechelle Lee (76).

The only winner in the Ladies Gross category was Rahmah Ismail with a score of 90.

The Permanent Secretary of Home Affairs, Hj Mohd Mahdi Pehin Dato Hj Abdul Rahman with a score of 64 was the winner in the VIP Nett category.

Second was Lt Col (Rtd) Hj Mahmud (65) and Dato Rahman Mohiddin came in third with a score of 69.

In the Senior Nett category, Hj Momin Sawal took first place with 65 Nett followed by Hj Sabri Hj Naweh (69) and Abang Hj Osman (70).

Bahrin Bakar with a score of 65 OCB took first place in Division A Nett category. Chris Tay (68) was second and third was Hj Noorismadi (69).

For Division B Nett, Sofian Hj Bakar took first spot with a score of 61 followed by Hj Yusof Latif (63) and Albert Lau (63).

Mohd Khairol Hj Bakar captured first place of Division C Nett with a score of 60. Diny Hj Karim (62) was second followed by Hj Abd Rahman (63).

Hj Mohd Mahdi as the guest-of-honour presented the prizes to the winners.

Some 200 golfers took part in the three-day championship organised by the working committee for His Majesty's 62nd birthday celebrations.
