Astronaut Gives Motivational Talk

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Malaysian Angkasawan (Astronaut), Dato Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Al-Masrie, yesterday conducted a motivational talk at the Chancellor Hall, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

Yesterday's talk was the second lecture by the Malaysian Angkasawan held at the Chancellor Hall of UBD, which was organised by UBD and GED Enterprise and sponsored by TAIB Bank and Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP). These talks were part of his preparation for his appearance at the Knowledge Convention 2008.

Present at the talk were Dato Paduka Dr Hj Ismail bin Hj Duraman, Vice Chancellor of UBD, and Hj Ghazali bin Pehin Dato Hj Mohd Jamil Al Sufri, General Manager of GED Enterprise.

During the talk Sheikh Muszaphar spoke of his experiences during his training for his mission into space as well as his experiences during his space flight to the ISS Space Station. He also spoke of what it was like to be in space and some of the things he did at the ISS Space Station.

Sheikh Muszaphar will be attending the opening ceremony of the Knowledge Convention 2008 (Majlis Ilmu 2008) today held at the International Convention Centre in Berakas. The Malaysian Angkasawan will also be at the Knowledge Convention on Sunday and will be holding a talk in the afternoon.

Members of the public who are interested to see the Malaysian Astronaut are encouraged to visit the Knowledge Convention this morning or tomorrow morning and afternoon. Those interested to hear his talk are welcome to attend free of charge. Sheikh Muszaphar will be leaving Brunei on Monday morning to return to Kuala Lumpur.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
