29 Students Receive Khatam Al-Quran Certificates

Bandar Seri Begawan - Twenty-nine students from the Tanah Jambu Religious School received their certificates at the Khatam al-Quran ceremony yesterday.

The event was held at the school's premise in Kg Tanah Jambu.

The chief guest at the function was the Officer of Islamic Studies Brunei II, Haji Idris Haji Aji. Also present was the school's Headmistress, Datin Hajah Nur Bayura bte Haji Lamit, religious teachers of the school, Kg Tanah Jambu Ketua KampongtAwg Haji Asar and parents of the participating students.

The school's religious teacher said that the function is one of the school's annual activity to acknowledge the students' achievement in the recital of the Quran and at the same time to improve and enhance the quality of recitation, as well as appreciate the teachings of the Quran.

The ceremony ended with the sprinkling of "Bunga Rampai" by the chief guest and invited guests. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
