Pg Bendahara Lama Religious School Holds Khatam Al-Quran

Bandar Seri Begawan - Pengiran Bendahara Lama Religious School held a Khatam al-Quran ceremony for its students at the Block B, Pengiran Bendahara Lama Religious School yesterday.

Present as the guest of honour was Pengiran Mokti bin Mohammad Salleh, the Head of Mukim Tamoi who launched the ceremony by leading a mass al-Fatihah recital.

Twenty-two students participated the ceremony. The ceremony proceeded with the recital of Surah Adh-Dhuhaa till al-Lahab by the participating students, followed by the school's female students and teachers reading Takhtim.

A dzikir performance by the school's male students and teachers further enlightened the event after the reading of Khatam prayer by Awang Haji Mohammad Badrun bin Haji Samsul, one of the participating students.

The guest of honour then presented the certificates to the participants and also headed the `Menabur Bunga Rampai' session followed by the parents.

The ceremony ended with the reading of doa selamat by Cikgu Haji Ali bin Haji Lahat.

The ceremony was intended to promote students to recite the Quran better and fluently, to complete all the 30 Juz of the al-Quran before they finish religious school, as well as nurture the habit of al-Quran recital as the cultural heritage of the country.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
