27 Students Receive Khatam Al-Quran Certificates

Bandar Seri Begawan - Twenty-seven primary six students from Beribi Telanai Religious School yesterday received their Khatam al-Quran certificates after having successfully completed the recitation of 30 juzuk (chapters) this year.

Present as the guest of honour was Head of Administration Unit, Islamic Studies Department Pengiran Duraman bin Pengiran Haji Damit.

The event began with a group recital of Surah al-Fatihah, led by the guest of honour, which was followed by other surahs, recited by Khatam al-Quran participants.

Takhtim and Doa Khatam then ensued.

The highlight of the ceremony was the sprinkling of bunga rampai and the presentation of certificates to the students by the guest of honour.

Later, nine students who excelled in their examinations received certificates.

The ceremony concluded with a doa selamat by Cikgu Mohd Rozieami bin Haji Abdul Rahim. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
