Immigration Check Ahead Of Tutong Get-Together
By Syafiq Affendy

Tutong - Some 11 officers from the Immigration Law Enforcement Section conducted another operation late Wednesday night.

Codenamed, Ops Pintas 104, the raiding party targeted six locations focusing on areas around Pekan Tutong and Kampung Bunut.

The immigration officers led by the Assistant Director of Immigration at the Law Enforcement Section apprehended a total of eight suspected offenders, including those who had failed to produce any valid documentation.

The raid took place ahead of the royal get-together in Pekan Tutong and also sought to flush out immigration offenders during the celebration of the 62'd birthday of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

Meanwhile, a Filipino national failed to produce valid documents and was found to have an expired visit pass while staying in a rented house in Kampong Bunut.

A Vietnamese national was found to have run away from her employer and her work pass revoked. She was ordered to return to her country but apparently has failed to comply.

Meanwhile, another Vietnamese national is yet to produce valid documents.

An Indonesian national was also found without valid documents.

The public can contact the Immigration Department to report any information regarding illegal immigrants or immigration offenders by contacting the hotlines 2383555 and 2383777 or for Belait District telephone numbers 3331879 or 33419$3 during office hours.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
