Sarawak Head Of State Visits Royal
Regalia

Begawan - Sarawak Head of State, Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Hj
Muhammad Salahuddin Abang Barieng and wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi
Hjh Norkiah yesterday visited the Royal Regalia Building in the
capital to take a closer look at the complete collection of the
Royal Regalia that has been inherited from generation to generation.
Accompanying the Sarawak Head of
State was Brunei's Minister of Finance II Pehin Orang Kaya Laila
Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Hj Abd Rahman bin Hj Ibrahim.
Also in attendance was the
Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Dato' Ku Jaafar bin Ku Shaari.
Upon arrival, the Sarawak Head of
State and spouse were welcomed by the Permanent Secretary at the
Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Paduka Hj Jemat bin Hj
Ampal.
This was followed by a guided tour
around the Royal Regalia Building, led by Pg Hj Mohd Yamin bin PSJ
Pg Hj Momin, Royal Regalia Exhibition Curator.
During the tour, they visited the
various exhibition galleries such as the Royal Regalias Exhibition,
which displayed the regalias used during the coronation of His
Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam,
including the Royal Chariot in which His Majesty rode enthroned
during the Royal Procession.
They also had the opportunity to
take a closer look at the Royal Exhibition Gallery, which briefly
documents the life history of His Majesty the Sultan from childhood
days up to the time of his coronation.
Other galleries include the Silver
Jubilee Exhibition Gallery, which chronicles the historic
celebration of His Majesty's ascension to the throne on October 5,
1992, and the History and Development of Constitution of Brunei
Darussalam Exhibition Gallery, which displays phases in the
development of Brunei's constitutional history.
The visiting Head of State and his
wife continued their visit yesterday to the Sultan Haji Hassanal
Bolkiah Islamic Exhibition Hall at the State Mufti's Office and to
