DES School's PTA Donates Water Purifiers

Bandar Seri Begawan - The DES School Parent-Teacher Association recently donated three water purifiers to the school as its major project for the school year 2007.

The project was achieved through the association's fundraising efforts during the school's February Car Boot Sale and mini family marathon during the Family Fun Day held early July this year.

During the presentation ceremony held at the school's Assembly Hall, Pg Hjh Ernie Suryanie Pg Hj Othman, principal and PTA advisor, thanked the association officers and members for their efforts and determination to have its first major project succeed. In her short speech, the principal encouraged everyone "to continue working together not only for tangible projects but also for action plans that would meet the ideals of the association and the children's interests now and in the years to come".

Present during the ceremony were the association's ordinary committee members and officers led by the school's PTA chairman, Awg Behrom Shem Hj Mohd Apong and Hjh Khadijah Hj Kassim, a member who generously donated one of the water purifiers. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
