Visiting Editor Holds Lecture On Muslim Identity In USA

Bandar Seri Begawan - A Lecture on "Youth in USA: Negotiating a Dual Identity" was held yesterday. It was organised by the cooperative efforts of Institut Tahfiz Al Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (ITQSHHB), Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Embassy of the United States of America.

The lecture was presented by Ms Tayyibah Taylor, Chief Editor of Azizah Magazine, a Muslim women's magazine in America.

During the lecture, Ms Tayyibah Taylor underlined the many challenges faced by Muslim youths in America, and touched on issues arising from their interactions with non-Muslim youths.

It had an attendance of approximately 200 people that included staff, teachers and students of ITQSHHB and students of Sekolah Menengah Arab Lelaki Hassanal Bolkiah (SMALHAB). -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
