Talk On Study In US

Begawan - Latest figures have shown that there are over 600,000
international students studying in the various educational
institutions in the United States.
This was highlighted by Ms Karen
Kaylor, Director of the United States Education Information Centre
based in Singapore, during a briefing on universities and colleges in
US held at the Sheraton Utama Hotel.
On the advantages of studying in US,
she said a US bachelors degree has undeniable benefits including
international recognition, exposure to latest technology, information
and equipment, distinguished faculty, top research and development
facilities and education beyond the classroom.
"We have small, medium and big
schools, with some university student population as small as 500 while
larger universities have over 20,000 students," said Ms Kaylor.
There are over 3,600 undergraduate
institutions in US and over 1,700 graduate programmes that can cater
for every needs and requirements of potential students.
One unique quality about US schools
highlighted that truly sets them apart from the British, European or
Australian system, is that of its flexibility.
Students can enter university without
having a committed major field of study, and they have up to two years
to make a final decision.
